

In some Persian, Arabic, and English loanwords, the letter জ borgiyo jô represents the sound even in educated speech, such as in জাকাত jakat/zakat “charity” or জোন jon/zon “zone”. In a lot of dialects, especially in Bangladesh, চ cô and ছ chô are pronounced like, while জ borgiyo jô and ঝ jhô are pronounced like.
